  • Overview

    Job Description:

    Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) bridges the gap between Development, Finance, and Operations with an interaction with modern cloud computing. The Cloud Center of Excellence Manager will be responsible to govern and manage the digital changes and processes that are required in Allegis' Cloud infrastructure.  S/he will also manage OpEx Model of cost per hour for Allegis Cloud infrastructure with proper tagging and utilization working with both AGIS Operations and Application teams as well as Operating Company business partners. In addition, the Manager CCoE will also be working with multiple IaaS vendors (AWS, Google, and Microsoft), SaaS vendors, and with virtualized/containerized environments in production.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    • Formation of the both CCoE and Cloud Community of Practice
    • Implement ITIL and CoE best practices for governance, service portfolio offerings, processes, and standards
    • Collaborate with architecture, application development, release automation, support and engineering teams to ensure stability, supportability, performance and scalability of shared services offerings
    • Work with AG IS Finance team to empower cloud teams to manage their own spend by providing simple access to usage and cost
    • Drive accountability by identifying which teams are driving cloud spend and ensure owners make value-driven decisions that balance needs and cost
    • Implement Proactive cloud cost management solutions, businesses can easily track, monitor, forecast and optimize their cloud costs.
    • Review the Overall resource usage in detail and eliminate the wasteful spending by having granular insights.
    • Possess high level understanding in the areas of web application programming, content management systems, API, databases, and system design
    • Work with Architecture team to identify patterns that allow for clear identification of which cloud provider to utilize to solve business problems.
    • Work with Architecture team to establish and assist in enforcing architectural standards and best practices
    • Monitoring: Working knowledge off monitoring to be used for both on-Prem and Cloud infrastructure
    • Drive to explore new technologies and being innovative
    • Define, collaborate and evangelized the mission of the CCoE across the Allegis organization, including the risks of delaying cloud adoption, and need for strict adherence to governance and control

       

      Supervisory or Management Responsibility:
    • Management responsibility for CCoE, including hiring, leadership, development and evaluation of performance.
    • Leads both direct reports and indirect team members driving consensus across the IS organization
    • Plans and develops people organization including but not limited to coaching and mentoring, succession planning, proactive identification of resource gaps, etc. for a team of direct and indirect reports.
    • Drives team to improve cycle time and speed to market, always driving to provide value to the business.

       

      Budget Responsibility:
    • Approve and review budgets and operational expenditures.
    • Participate in budgeting process and quarterly refinements.  Review costs monthly and course correct if necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Education and/or Experience:
    • B.S Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education required
    • Five (5) years as a manager responsible for shared services for cloud/SaaS platform and applications
    • Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology experience required

       

      Skills/Abilities:
    • AWS, Azure or GCP background (preferably all three), high-level programming experience, and basic sys admin skills required
    • Experience with enterprise level cloud-based development, deployment, and auditing, including: PAAS, IAAS, and SAAS.
    • Knowledge of compliance frameworks PCI, SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001 and the ability to apply their requirements and concepts to a complex environment
    • PMP, PMI-ACP or Scrum Master, SAFe, and ITIL certifications(preferred)
    • Professional Cloud Certification(s) (CCSP, CCSK, etc.) and/or information security/ technology risk management certification (CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM) preferred
    • Strong interpersonal communication and diplomacy skills, as well as a passion for leading
    • Strong technical experience, knowledge, and understanding of micro-services architecture
    • Recent 2 years' experience leading DevOps in high growth environments
    • Experienced technologist solid understanding of agile and lean methodologies, and the development of cloud applications
