  • Overview

    The Corporate Services Category Manager is responsible for the end-to-end strategic sourcing process for new and existing vendor relationships that are critical to the success of Allegis Group. This role is accountable for providing procurement leadership with a strong customer focus in areas such as Human Resources, Marketing, Professional Services, Real Estate, and other shared services departments as needed.  The Category Manager will be working with a wide variety of business owners, selecting and conferring with vendors to obtain products and service information including price, product availability, and delivery schedules; coordinate with the representatives from vendor companies and internal departments including Legal to construct, negotiate, and assess all category contracts and services. The Category Manager will understand requirements, strategically source new vendors, manage existing vendors, negotiate and administer contracts with varying degrees of complexity and sensitivity, all while ensuring that cost, quality, and delivery terms are met. This role reports to the Strategic Sourcing Manager in Procurement​


    Essential Functions:​

    • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across Allegis Group Operating Companies to understand business plans and gain alignment of sourcing and process improvement strategies

    • Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills and change management skills, demonstrated by motivating a diverse group of internal customers to follow the optimum strategy

    • Participate in defining and/or refining the standards, guidelines, and disciplines for the procurement department

    • Engage internal stakeholders globally in order to understand business objectives and desired market related outcomes (10k+ total internal employees, in over 300 global locations)

    • Manage customer's expectations through timely feedback and proactive communication

    • Understand critical privacy and compliance terms including EU GDPR

    • Lead procurement projects including negotiation of contracts & commercial terms consistent with maximizing business value for the organization

    • Develop, coordinate, and implement category procurement sourcing plans that provide maximum value to the business while effectively managing organizational spend

    • Perform in-depth analysis of supply markets and sources from globally capable and competitive suppliers

    • Conduct strategic supplier sourcing activities including RFx, negotiations, contracting, price analyses, and program management to support new strategies in accordance with processes and policy (with legal assistance)

    • Prepare contract documents using templates including, but not limited to, NDA's, Master Agreements, SOW's, SLA's, Amendments, and DPA's

    • Engage in wide ranging planning cycles from short term to multi-year sourcing activities

    • Work closely with key stakeholders to gain consensus during supplier selection, ensuring buy-in and successful execution

    • Measure and report value delivered

    • Oversee complex procurement projects across a variety of geographies and functions

    • Research industry benchmarks (pricing, quality, product changes, service levels, trends)

    • Monitor global supply solutions and expenditures

    • Develop and negotiate vendor SLAs, KPIs and performance metrics

    • Ensure that adequate price competition exists, and favorable supply arrangements are met

    • Review contract compliance identify problem situations and recommend corrective measures

    • Drive issue resolution through issue and risk management.  Escalate issues to the Strategic Sourcing Manager when appropriate

    • Make full use of technology such as e-procurement tools and processes

    • Identify risk situations and coordinate solutions with management `

    • Maintain vendors and contracts through internal vendor database

    • Establish goals consistent with the company objectives and to adapt plans to an ever-changing environment

    Decision Making Level:​

    • Responsible for using independent judgment and making decisions that require a great degree of creative, analytical, and problem-solving ability

    • Ability to take full responsibility for decisions and results even when all elements are not under the individual's direct control

    • Develop and maintain metrics of vendor performance for use in placement of repeat or new business

    • Negotiate and support agreements with new and existing vendors to ensure expected performance levels are maintained

    • Ability to act, make informed decisions and generate ideas to improve overall business performance on key metrics directly influenced by this position


    Minimum Education and/or Experiece​:

    • BS in supply chain/purchasing, BA in business-related field, or equivalent substantive experience

    • At least 6 years in procurement or strategic sourcing organization

    • Extensive complex contract review experience 

    • Working with and/or managing cross functional teams


    • Strong negotiation, organization, and customer service skills

    • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently

    • Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal) required with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

    • Experience in implementation of processes, policies and methodologies

    • High degree of attention to detail

    • Strong analytical skills 

    • Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and related computer skills​

    Special Requirements of the Job:​
