Job Summary

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements
  • Interacting with internal customers providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs
  • Research technological advancements to ensure that data center technology solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements
  • Contribute to the development, testing, distribution, and documentation of data center technologies and solutions, including servers, ​storage, networking and virtual technologies.
  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate engineering artifacts exist for new or updated solutions, including but not limited to design documentation, network diagrams, implementation documentation
  • Ensure appropriate knowledge transfer to Data Center Services and Operations teams for engineered solutions and architectures
  • Work in conjunction with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects and Domain Architects to maintain short term and long-term technology roadmaps and strategies ​

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in a related field and/or comparable industry related experience required
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience managing Windows & Linux servers (Physical & Virtual)
  • Solid understanding of Agile & Devops principles
  • Automation experience is required
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing preferred
  • Experience with CI/CD systems preferred
  • Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred​
Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application and or infrastructure related problems
  • Working knowledge of industry standard Red Hat Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge of server virtualization
  • Experience working with various sourcing arrangements and hosted technologies including IaaS and Private/Hybrid/Public Cloud offerings
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and other serverless technologies​​
  • Experience with various scripting technologies (Java, VBScript)​
