Overview

Job Summary:

The Data Analyst- Tax Operations  will work with the Tax Director to implement and build valuable business solutions for a fast-paced established multinational business, whose annual revenue are in the range of $15 billion dollars. The Tax Operations Accountant will primarily be responsible for supporting the Tax Director in being a focal representative for the global Tax department with respect to enterprise-wide systems & processes that the Tax department is responsible for.  This may include building out solutions to better refine large datasets for Tax department use, critically assessing tax technologies and how they can benefit the tax department.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with tax teams globally to understand current processes and document where there are best practices process, needs for a process, and/or identifying various departments doing duplicate processes.
  • Design and Delivery: Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable tax technology solutions that will create more efficiencies among the tax department.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of tax reporting data for specific tax jurisdictions, addressing data quality issues, and defining functional requirements for technical development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within Allegis Group and its operating companies to develop more standard and streamlined data sets.
  • Technology assessment: play a role in assessing the current tax technology in place and what other technologies might be adopted.
  • Metrics Development: Support the creation of new metrics to quantify the value of various aspects of tax data.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in environment focused on accounting principles, processes, and entries.
  • Experience in large-scale tax or accounting business processes and data flows.
  • Proficiency in managing large datasets, data reconciliation, and investigation.
  • Experience in developing data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power Pivot, Power BI, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Tax, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills. The professional must be able to identify and solve complex problems, as well as analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Must be Adaptive and resilient.  They must also be able to handle stress and setbacks in a positive way as the tax data environment is continuously changing due to innovation and regulation.
  • Strong organization and written documentation skills.
