We are looking for a Head of User Experience (UX) to lead the Allegis Group User Experience team. You will lead a hardworking team, focused on crafting human-centric end-to-end experiences across our employees, talent, and sales verticals. You must have experience in developing both holistic and future-forward experiences and a demonstrated ability to inspire and mentor others to push boundaries, as well as the ability to optimize the details of current experiences. As a UX leader, you will be encouraged to use your full range of product, interaction, systems, and you will be required to use your deep knowledge and experience to evangelize the UX strategy throughout the organization. While promoting the UX team to deliver exceptional business value to users.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provides thought leadership and direction to all aspects of user experience including design, UX strategy, interaction design, research, usability, prototyping and visual design.
  • Works directly with senior leadership, Product, and Architects in defining and leading both the near term and future state of Allegis Group’s multi-platform experiences.
  • Sets the UX strategy and vision for Allegis Group, offer a strong product and design voice with your cross functional partners.
  • Establishes direction and clear sense of meaning to inspire teams in creating their own connection and passion to the business goals, orients others around a shared vision.
  • Identifies risks, mitigation plans, operational readiness criteria, deployment success factors, and drives deliverables for production launches.
  • Oversees high-visibility projects using agile methods in a fast-paced, multi-workstream environment; integrates traditional and agile practices for large, enterprise initiatives.
  • Develops/maintains methods to measure customer satisfaction; obtains feedback to ensure that efforts are meeting customer expectations for time, cost, and quality.
  • Maintains overarching responsibility for executing best practices approaches and methodologies (ex: ITIL, Agile/ Scrum, SDLC, SOA, etc.) for the support and sustainability of solutions.
  • Educating and leading cross-functional leaders through UX practice development and process change
  • Driving the practice of a data focused approach.

Supervisory and/or Management Responsibility:

  • Management responsibility for the team, including hiring, leadership, development, and accountability for performance.
  • Plans and develops people organization including but not limited to coaching and mentoring, succession planning, proactive identification of resource gaps, etc. for a team of direct and indirect reports.
  • Drives team to improve cycle time and speed to market.
  • Manage vendors relationships and resources working to establish a UX practice throughout the organization.

Budget Responsbility:

  • Approves and reviews budgets and operational expenditures.
  • Shares fiscal responsibility for the organization’s technology investments and future planning of the organization’s spend, to avoid unnecessary and duplicative services and to maximize ROI (Return on Investment).
  • Establishes clear cost-of-service model and drives business cases for taking cost out of transactional processes through automation.
  • Executes and tracks vendor statement of work as it relates to milestones and deliverables.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in User Experience Design, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology or related experience in a similar role.
  • Incredibly strong portfolio showing examples of UX and strategic thinking.
  • 10+ years of experience with focus on Product design or UX.
  • 5+ years working in a product-led organization managing, training, and mentoring a team of 8 or more researchers and designers.
  • Experience designing and managing a broad set of UI platforms including applications, mobile, and web.
  • Experience collaborating with a cross-functional team of designers, product owners, architects, developers, and testers.
  • Experience in the meaningful analysis of application/product usage leveraging analytic tools.

Skills/Abilities:

  • A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-level product design strategy.
  • Experience with the Adobe Suite, Figma, Miro, and other related current tools required.
  • Certified in NNG standards and best practices or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to grow a successful UX practice within a large-scale organization.
  • A practitioner of user-centric processes and design thinking principles.
  • Superior at building relationships, collaboration, and teamwork across the local and global organizations.
  • Energizes others towards a global mindset.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business challenges and opportunities and an ability to build relationships and trust with customers and business partners.
  • Ability to translate/communicate complex concepts to peers and business partners.
  • Able to navigate a complex enterprise with varying degrees of UX maturity.
  • Proficient in all phases of product/project delivery lifecycles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical project management and/or leadership skills including the ability to plan, organize, and steer activities
  • Strong financial acumen with a sense of shareholder responsibility
  • Ability to travel without restrictions (up to 20% domestic and international)

Salary Range
  • $138,100-$207,100
  • The position is bonus eligible

Office Requirements:

  • Local candiates required in office 4 days a week
  • Open to remote for candidates located outside of Maryland (travel required)
  • Travel up to 15%
  • Position will close on 12/18/2024
