Overview

Job Summary:

 

The Human Resources Generalist position is a key role within the Talent and Organizational Development team that supports the Human Resources Department. Primarily, the HR Generalist will manage several key HR operations for ACS. This role will advise, collaborate with others, and coordinate activities related to performance development and management, employee relations, offboarding, ADA accommodations, alternative work schedules, data analytics and trends reporting, compliance, health & safety, and other human resources activities.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

 

• Works in partnership with employees and people leaders on topics such as performance management, employee relations, ADA accommodations, alternative work schedules, and offboarding.
• Manages the ADA (workplace accommodations) and AWS (alternative work schedules) Processes.
• Supports/facilitates the Performance Development Process in partnership with the T&OD team.
• Supports the Calibration Process in partnership with the HRBP.
• Manages the Offboarding Process to include conducting Exit Interviews, processing ESFs, and leading the Asset Return Process.
• Acts as the first line of defense for resolving issues related to performance issues or employee concerns, including investigations, and partners closely with the HRBP on all escalated matters.
• Provides trend analysis reports that will support strategic initiatives in areas like performance management and employee relations, accommodations, and alternative work schedules, exit data, and employee experience.
• Responds to general inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

• Supports complex leave topics (i.e.: ADA, FMLA, STD, etc.) when escalated beyond standard processes.
• Ensures HR resources remain current/up to date within the HRBP Playbook and company intranet.
• Evaluates and recommends improvements to HR processes and procedures, and collaborates with other Shared Service functions to enhance service levels to ACS employees.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, performance management, and employment law.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

 

• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or equivalent, required.
• At least 5 years of experience working in Human Resources, and in most areas identified in the responsibilities described above, required.
• Experience with resolving employee relations matters required. Experience conducting effective investigations is preferred.
• Knowledge of State and Federal Employment regulations is required.
• Strongly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone) preferred.
• Experience using PeopleSoft application is a plus.
• Location/Schedule requirement: This position reports to the Hanover, MD office a minimum of four (4) days a week, with flexibility to work up to one (1) day remotely.

Salary Range:

 

$75,800 – $113,800
Salary will be commensurate with job experience.
The position is bonus eligible.
