Overview

Job Summary:

The Project Manager plays a critical role in planning and delivering OpCo Enablement initiatives. OpCo Enablement is an enterprise-wide team that works across a broad portfolio of technologies supporting multiple Allegis Group business lines and geographies. The Project Manager communicates with leaders at multiple levels and is aligned to one or more workstreams. This role is responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of assigned workstream(s), ensuring objectives are met on time, within scope, and within budget.

 

The Project Manager operates in a complex, matrixed environment involving internal employees, external implementation partners, and consultants across a distributed workforce. The role requires the ability to manage ambiguity, drive accountability, and maintain a constant focus on critical path delivery.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Leads planning and delivery of one or more program workstreams, ensuring alignment to overall program goals and timelines.
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans, including work sequencing, work breakdown structure, resource allocation, and delivery schedules.
  • Identifies and manages cross-workstream dependencies, proactively remediating work plans to keep the program on the critical path.
  • Manages team capacity to ensure work and timelines align with resource availability.
  • Proactively identifies, escalates, and manages risks and issues through appropriate escalation paths, driving toward resolution.
  • Partners with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to ensure workstream activities are coordinated with relevant change management efforts.
  • Participates in regular status reporting, providing data-driven transparency into progress for all levels of the organization.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, delivery partners, and the business to ensure program success.
  • Translates complex technical requirements into clear business terms for diverse audiences.
  • Manages vendor and system integrator relationships within designated workstreams.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement through lessons learned, process analysis, and methodological refinement.
  • Leads remote and distributed teams, coordinating activities across time zones and organizational boundaries.

What kinds of decisions can the individual make independently?

  • Project planning, task sequencing, and work breakdown structure.

What kinds of decisions are escalated to the supervisor/manager to make?

  • Escalates decisions involving significant scope, budget, schedule, resource, risk, vendor, or strategic program impacts to PMO Leadership. Provides recommendations and data-driven analysis to support decision-making while maintaining ownership of day-to-day execution activities.

Budget Responsibility:

  • Manages workstream-level budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting of expenses.
  • Partners with IS Leadership and stakeholders to adjust budget based on agreed-upon scope and resource changes.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale technology or business transformation programs in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, including internal staff, external partners, and consultants.
  • Experience managing distributed and remote workforces across multiple geographies.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget.
  • Experience with Enterprise-wide implementations or large-scale enterprise technology programs.
  • PMP certification required; Agile, PgMP, or equivalent certifications strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with work management tools such as Version One or equivalent.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.

Office Requirements:

  • Required in office 4 days a week out of our headquarters in Hanover, MD

Salary Range:

  • $115,400 - $174,900
  • The position is bonus eligible

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
